The Mars Voltaのデビュー作にしてAt the Drive-Inのポスト・ハードコアから一転、プログレ、ラテン、サイケデリアが爆発した衝撃作。
オマーとセドリックはATDIの衝動性を残しつつ、より複雑なリズムと予測不能な展開を構築。後の作品で見られるようなジャム的な要素や即興性はまだ控えめながら、練り上げられた楽曲構成と圧倒的なエネルギーで唯一無二のサウンドを確立。コンセプトと実験性が見事に融合した、バンドの原点にして傑作。
